<\/span><\/h2>\nClear cell acanthoma is rare benign<\/span> (not cancerous) epithelial<\/span> skin tumor<\/span>. Usually a loner injury<\/span> popping up on the lower legs, but there have been cases of multiple injuries.<\/p>\nThe clear cell acanthoma is also known as the Acanthoma Degos or acanthome \u00e0 cellules claires.<\/p>\n
The clinical features of the injury include:<\/p>\n
\n- Slightly raised to a dome shape license plate<\/span> or nodule<\/span>\n<\/li>\n
- Color varies from pink to brown, but is generally blood red and bright<\/li>\n
- It can be from 3 to 20 mm in diameter.<\/li>\n
- The crispy wafer-shaped scale<\/span> It may be stuck around the edges of the injury. A wet or bleeding surface can result if the scale is removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

<\/span>How is clear cell acanthoma obtained and who is at risk?<\/span><\/h2>\nIt is currently unknown why clear cell acanthoma occurs. Although rare, they occur mainly in middle-aged or older adults. Both men and women can be affected.<\/p>\n

<\/span>How was the diagnosis made?<\/span><\/h2>\nThe diagnosis is rarely made before a skin. biopsy<\/span>. However, dermoscopy is characteristic, since blood vessels<\/span> they are lined up in chains (see images above). When examined under a microscope, the clear cell acanthoma shows a characteristic accumulation of clear glycogen-containing cells in the epidermis<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/span>What treatments are available?<\/span><\/h2>\nThey can persist for years and years without changing or causing complications.
