<\/span>\nHistological<\/span> variants of conjunctivitis<\/span><\/h2>\nAllergic conjunctivitis: the presence of numerous eosinophils<\/span> It is the discriminating characteristic.<\/p>\nInfectious conjunctivitis: typically the presence of numerous neutrophils<\/span><\/span> It should raise concern for a bacterial bacterial conjunctivitis. In histology this cannot be excluded and culture<\/span> it should be recommended if there are any clinical concerns.
