<\/span><\/h2>\nCutaneous<\/span> larva migrans is a parasitic skin infection<\/span> caused by helminth<\/span> larvae that generally infest cats, dogs, and other animals. Humans can become infected with the larvae by walking barefoot along sandy beaches or by contacting soft, moist soil that has been contaminated with animal feces. Also known as creeping eruption<\/span>As once infected, the larvae migrate below the surface of the skin and cause itchy red lines or tracks.<\/p>\n<\/span>\nHistology<\/span> cutaneous larva migrans<\/span><\/h2>\nIn larva migrans, histopathological examination shows curvilinear eosinophilic<\/span> larvae inside epidermis<\/span> (Figures 1,2, arrow). The larvae can be seen in the superficial epidermis (as illustrated in this case) or deeper on the surface dermis<\/span>.
