Most people only use topical agents for facial skin, as they can be difficult to apply to the back. Additional vitamins and minerals have not been shown to help.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash affected areas twice daily with a mild cleanser and water or an antiseptic wash.<\/li>\n<li>Acne products should be applied to all acne-affected areas, rather than simply being placed on individual spots.<\/li>\n<li>A thin stain should only be applied to clean, dry skin overnight.<\/li>\n<li>Acne products may work best if applied in the morning as well.<\/li>\n<li>They often cause dryness, particularly in the first 2 to 4 weeks of use. This is partly how they work. The skin generally conforms to this.<\/li>\n<li>Apply an oil-free moisturizer only if the affected skin is obviously peeling.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid applying oily cosmetics as a base or sunscreen.<\/li>\n<li>It can take several weeks or even months to see a compelling improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Stop using a product if severe irritation occurs. Consult your doctor for advice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Suitable topical agents for mild acne that can be obtained over the counter include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antiseptic washes with triclosan or benzoyl peroxide (Acnederm wash \u2122, Benzac \u2122 AC Wash, Dalacin \u2122 T Prewash, Oxy \u2122 Daily Skin Wash)<\/li>\n<li>Gentle salicylic acid preparations to exfoliate and unplug follicles (Neutrogena\u00ae Oil-Free Acne Wash and many others)<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Benzoyl peroxide <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1121\">cream<\/span>\/ \/<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1120\">lotion<\/span>\/ \/<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1123\">gel<\/span> (PanOxyl \u2122 Acne Gel, Brevoxyl \u2122 Cream, Oxy-10 \u2122, Clearasil \u2122 Ultra Acne Cream, Benzac AC Gel)<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Azelaic Acid (Skinoren \u2122 Cream, Acnederm \u2122 Medicated Lotion, Azclear \u2122 Action Lotion)<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Stabilized Cream Hydrogen Peroxide (Crystacide\u00ae, Crystaderm \u2122)<\/li>\n<li>Immune defense proteins (Epiology\u00ae)<\/li>\n<li>Tea tree oil, bee venom, polyphenols, and other products for which there is evidence of <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"914\">effectiveness<\/span> It is limited.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prescription topical agents for mild acne include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Antibiotics, such as clindamycin. <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1119\">solution<\/span> (Topicil \u2122, ClindaTech \u2122) or erythromycin solution (Stiemycin \u2122) and gel (Eryacne \u2122), which are best used with benzoyl peroxide or azelaic acid to reduce the chance of antibiotic resistance<\/li>\n<li>\n<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"762\">Retinoids<\/span> ie, tretinoin (ReTrieve \u2122, Retin-A \u2122), isotretinoin (Isotrex \u2122), adapalene (Differin \u2122); In some countries, adapalene is available without a prescription.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Combined prescription topics include clindamycin \/ benzoyl peroxide (Duac \u2122) and adapalene \/ benzoyl peroxide gel (Epiduo \u2122).<\/p>\n<p>Lights and lasers, including blue light, have been found to be safe and helpful for mild to moderate acne when oral medications are not helpful or not helpful.<\/p>\n<p>Consult your doctor or <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"54\">dermatologist<\/span> For advice if your pimples don&#039;t clear up in six weeks or if you have severe acne.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tratamiento-del-acne-moderadamente-severo\"><\/span>Moderately severe acne treatment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Treatment for moderately severe acne generally includes the topical agents described above. Also, oral medications can be prescribed, usually for at least 3 to 6 months.<\/p>\n<p>Suitable oral medications include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Antibiotics such as tetracycline, minocycline, doxycycline, or trimethoprim.<\/li>\n<li>The combined oral contraceptive pill, in women.<\/li>\n<li>Oral antiandrogens, such as low-dose cyproterone (in combination with <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1844\">estrogen<\/span>) and \/ or spironolactone, especially if there are signs of hyperandrogenism\n<\/li>\n<li>Short-term use of non-steroids <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1413\">anti-inflammatory<\/span> agents like ibuprofen or naproxen <\/li>\n<li>Oral isotretinoin for resistant or persistent acne.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When oral antibiotics are discontinued, <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1854\">control<\/span> it should be maintained for the long term by continuing topical therapy.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tratamiento-del-acne-severo\"><\/span>Treatment of severe acne<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Treatment for severe acne requires oral treatment. Patients must be under the care of a dermatologist.<\/p>\n<p>Many patients will be treated with oral isotretinoin.<\/p>\n<p>The following may also be prescribed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High doses of oral antibiotics for six months or more.<\/li>\n<li>In women, especially those with polycystic ovary. <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"350\">syndrome<\/span>Oral antiandrogens such as estrogen \/ cyproterone or spironolactone may be suitable in the long term<\/li>\n<li>\n<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"380\">Systemic<\/span> corticosteroids are sometimes used<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"square-placement-country-holder\" class=\"country-dependent advert\"><\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tratamientos-fisicos-para-el-acne\"><\/span>Physical treatments for acne.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunlight is anti-inflammatory and may help briefly. However, exposure to <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1908\">Ultraviolet radiation<\/span> results in skin aging and can eventually lead to skin <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"30\">Cancer<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Lasers and other light systems that use wavelengths of visible light appear safe and useful for acne. The treatment is often administered twice a week for four weeks. The effect can be enhanced by using a photosensitizing agent (<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1571\">photodynamic<\/span> therapy).<\/li>\n<li>\n<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1145\">Cryotherapy<\/span> (freezing treatment) can be useful to control new <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"367\">nodules<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Intralesional steroid injections can be used to shrink older nodules and <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"511\">pseudocysts<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Comedones can be expressed or removed by <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1616\">cauterization<\/span> or diathermy (electrosurgery).<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Microdermabrasion can help with mild acne.<\/li>\n<li>Note: X-ray treatment is no longer recommended for acne, as it can cause skin cancer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo se trata el acn\u00e9?
