Since these inflammatory reactions are not related to <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1136\">allergy<\/span>, most patients can safely receive subsequent vaccinations. A less common cause of an adverse skin reaction is an allergy to a vaccine or one of its components.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reacciones-inflamatorias-de-la-piel\"><\/span>Inflammatory skin reactions.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<table class=\"borders\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th>Vaccination\/<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1554\">Constitution<\/span>\n<\/th>\n<th>Reaction<\/th>\n<th>Why<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Most vaccines<\/td>\n<td>Local reactions at the injection site, such as swelling, redness, and \/ or pain can occur with up to 80% of vaccine doses, depending on the type of vaccine. Local reactions generally occur within a few hours of the injection, are generally mild, and do not require any specific treatment.<\/td>\n<td>The normal inflammatory response to a foreign substance.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Vaccine<\/td>\n<td>Transient <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"255\">eruption<\/span> in up to 5% of the recipients.<\/td>\n<td>Since the vaccine contains live viruses, it is probably due to the modified measles induced by the vaccine.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Chickenpox vaccine<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Chickenpox lesions can appear at the injection site in approximately 3% of recipients. In another 3%, the lesions may be more <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"308\">generalized<\/span>. A zoster-like rash can rarely appear after the chickenpox vaccine.<\/td>\n<td>Another live virus vaccine that can cause vaccine-induced illness.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids<\/td>\n<td>\n<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"943\">Hypersensitivity<\/span> (sometimes called Arthus-type reaction): rare and severe local reaction (swelling, redness, pain). Not allergic<\/td>\n<td>It is believed to be due to the very high concentration of <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"425\">antibody<\/span>, usually caused by too many doses of toxoid.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Aluminum hydroxide<\/td>\n<td>Induces <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"900\">subcutaneous<\/span> <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"367\">nodules<\/span> (small lumps under the skin) in up to 19% of patients. The nodules usually resolve within a few months. Not allergic<\/td>\n<td>Non-specific reaction to a foreign substance.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids<\/td>\n<td>Generalized <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1646\">urticaria<\/span> (urticaria), <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1645\">angioedema<\/span>, and unidentified eruptions in about 5 to 13% of the recipients.<\/td>\n<td>Studies suggest that most mild to moderate generalized reactions result from nonspecific activation of the inflammatory system by high doses of <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"937\">bacterial<\/span> components. Subsequent booster injections of suspect vaccines are well tolerated.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div id=\"square-placement-country-holder\" class=\"country-dependent advert\">\n<div class=\"box-placement square-placement\">\n<div class=\"advert__frame\">\n<div id=\"dermnet-dermnet-mobbox\">\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reacciones-alergicas\"><\/span><span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1336\">Allergic reactions<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Contacto-alergico-dermatitis\"><\/span>Allergic contact <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"53\">dermatitis<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"324\">Located<\/span> Allergic contact dermatitis can be induced by the components of the vaccine. Historically, dermatitis was due to neomycin and thiomersal. The allergic reaction can be caused by the vaccine. <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"410\">antigen<\/span> itself or some other component of the vaccine, such as animal protein, antibiotic, preservative or stabilizer; gelatin, egg, chicken, and \/ or yeast are commonly implicated.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1014\">Anaphylactic<\/span> Reactions generally occur within 4 hours of receiving the vaccine and involve multiple body systems, with generalized urticaria (urticaria), angioedema, shortness of breath, and low blood pressure. Severe anaphylaxis can be fatal. If an anaphylactic reaction occurs, immediate resuscitation is required (see ASCIA Anaphylaxis Action Plan). Later, allergy testing (under careful medical supervision) is recommended and no additional doses of the vaccine should be given. A blood test called RAST or EAST can be used to exclude an egg allergy.<\/p>\n<p>Drug-induced urticaria without anaphylaxis can also be the result of vaccines.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eritema-multiforme\"><\/span>\n<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"90\">Erythema<\/span> multiform<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Erythema multiforme is occasionally caused by vaccines. Erythema multiforme is characterized by the objective or <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"389\">Diana<\/span> hand, foot and leg injuries. It has been reported after mumps \/ measles \/ rubella, diphtheria \/ pertussis \/ tetanus, <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1801\">hepatitis<\/span> A \/ B, human papillomavirus (genital wart vaccine) and <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1053\">meningitis<\/span> vaccinations<\/p>\n<p>Stevens-Johnson <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"350\">syndrome<\/span> \/ \/ <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1159\">toxic<\/span> <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"846\">epidermal<\/span> Necrolysis has also been rarely reported to follow vaccination. This is a potentially very serious condition in which the skin and <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"188\">mucous<\/span> The membranes blister and erode.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Viral-infeccion\"><\/span>Viral <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"145\">infection<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Vaccines are intended to prevent viral disease. However, patients who are on immunosuppressive therapy should avoid live vaccines in case the vaccine causes <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"309\">extended<\/span> viral disease. For example, the vaccine against <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/doctorhoogstra.com\/en\/wiki\/infeccion-de-herpes\/\" title=\"Herpes zoster\">Herpes zoster<\/a> it is <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1322\">contraindicated<\/span> in these patients due to the risk of <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"67\">disseminated<\/span> herpes zoster infection, which can be fatal<span>. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introducci\u00f3n M\u00e1s adverso cut\u00e1neo los eventos asociados con las vacunas son causados \u200b\u200bpor un normal inflamatorio respuesta a una sustancia extra\u00f1a.
