The diagnosis is made from your <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"474\">histological<\/span> appearance in <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"24\">biopsy<\/span>. The name &quot;animal type&quot; arises from the close similarity with the <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1520\">pigmented<\/span> <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"785\">melanocytic<\/span> tumors found in gray horses. And tests are not considered necessary for healthy patients who have stayed well for 5 years or more after the removal of their melanoma, at any stage.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%C2%BFCual-es-el-pronostico-para-pacientes-con-melanoma-de-tipo-animal\"><\/span>What is the prognosis for animal melanoma patients?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Since animal-type melanoma is rare, there is less information on <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"241\">forecast<\/span> available compared to other types of melanoma.
