Other areas that may be affected include the nasal passages, esophagus, trachea, and genitals. Sometimes the skin can also be involved where blisters can be found on the face, neck and scalp.<\/p>\n<p>Mucous membrane pemphigoid is also called <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"36\">scar<\/span> pemphigoid or oral pemphigoid.<\/p>\n<p>Brunsting Perry cicatricial penmphigoid is a rare variant in which <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"324\">located<\/span> crops of <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"805\">recurrent<\/span> blisters appear inside <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"293\">urticarial<\/span> <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"368\">plates<\/span>, usually on the head and neck. immune system begins to react against its own tissue. In this particular case <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"352\">autoantibodies<\/span> They react with proteins found in mucous membranes and skin tissue, resulting in blistering lesions.
