Patients with gluten enteropathy or celiac disease sometimes suffer from other autoimmune<\/span> diseases possibly associated with gluten intolerance. These include insulin<\/span>–dependent<\/span> diabetes mellitus, thyroiditis, autoimmune hepatitis<\/span>Sj\u00f6gren syndrome<\/span>, Addison's disease, atrophic<\/span> gastritis, alopecia<\/span> areata, vitiligo and urticaria<\/span>.<\/p>\nThey may also be affected by conditions that are not related to gluten intolerance.
