include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Methotrexate<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The dose is 5 to 30 mg once a week (orally or <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"900\">subcutaneous<\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>Folic acid 5 mg is also often prescribed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Azathioprine<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The dose is 1-3 mg\/kg\/day<\/li>\n<li>Take 1 hour before or 3 hours after food.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Cyclosporine<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dosage is 2.5 to 5 mg\/kg\/day in 2 divided doses<\/li>\n<li>Caution if you change brands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>TNF\u03b1 inhibitors (biologics)\n<ul>\n<li>A loading dose is usual<\/li>\n<li>A maintenance dose of etanercept is 50 mg sc every week<\/li>\n<li>A maintenance dose of adalimumab is 40 mg sc every other week.<\/li>\n<li>A maintenance dose of infliximab is 5 mg\/kg IV every eight weeks.<\/li>\n<li>A maintenance dose of ustekinumab is 45 or 90 mg sc every 12 weeks.<\/li>\n<li>A maintenance dose of secukinumab is 300 mg every four weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are prescribed by specialists, but other health professionals may be involved in the patient&#039;s care. psoriasis\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"261\">SCORE<\/span> or <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"75\">EASI<\/span> for atopic eczema\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The impact of the disease is recorded.\n<ul>\n<li>\n<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"70\">DLQI<\/span> (dermatological quality of life index)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The patient wishes to receive the medication and is expected to comply with the monitoring instructions.<\/li>\n<li>Impact of patient comorbidities.\n<ul>\n<li>regular dental hygiene<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Possible contraindications to treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Vaccinations are up to date<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Vaccines may be less effective on immunosuppressants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" methotrexate, azathioprine\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recent vaccination with a live vaccine.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For example, yellow <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1176\">fever<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No immunity to varicella-zoster virus (chickenpox, shingles)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consider vaccination before treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Non-responsive disorder<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Azathioprine is not effective for psoriasis.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>TNF\u03b1 inhibitors are not effective for dermatitis or urticaria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Comorbidities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Methotrexate may not be suitable for patients with liver or <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1522\">hematological<\/span> illness, or for people who drink alcohol excessively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"943\">Hypersensitivity<\/span> reactions<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Azathioprine hypersensitivity takes several forms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Drug interactions are very common with these drugs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Caution if with another immunosuppressant<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Methotrexate should not be taken while on trimethoprim\/sulfamethoxazole<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Azathioprine should not be taken while on allopurinol, and use caution with several other medications, including warfarin.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Cyclosporine
