<\/span><\/h2>\nEpidermal<\/span> nevus<\/span> falls into the category of benign<\/span> epidermal tumors<\/p>\n<\/span>\nHistology<\/span> of epidermal nevus<\/span><\/h2>\nThe view of the scanning power of an epidermal nevus is from an epidermis proliferative<\/span> process (Figure 1). Under power reveals hyperkeratosis<\/span> and papillomatosis<\/span> across the sample (Figures 2.3). Epidermal hyperplasia<\/span> forms finger-shaped projections with intermediate invaginations filled with hyperkeratotic<\/span> material (Figure 4). Incidental fungal spore forms are frequently observed. Extending below the projections in the dermis<\/span> thickened anastomoses laces<\/span> of the acanthotic epidermis<\/span> (Figure 5). Dermal<\/span> collagen<\/span> and the telangiectatic vessels can be seen within the papillary projections (Figures 5 and 6).<\/p>\nA variable inflammatory<\/span> infiltrators<\/span> can accompany epidermal changes, more prominent in inflammation warty<\/span> variant.<\/p>\n\n<\/span>Pathology of the epidermal nevus<\/span><\/h5>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

<\/span>\nHistological<\/span> epidermal nevus variants<\/span><\/h2>\nThere are several reported variants, including acantholytic<\/span>porokeratotic acanthosis<\/span> nigricans, Hailey-Hailey disease, and warty epidermal nevi.<\/p>\n<\/span>\nDifferential diagnosis<\/span> of epidermal nevus<\/span><\/h2>\nInflammatory warty epidermal nevus (ILVEN): This nevus is probably simply a subtype of epidermal nevi. In addition to the superficial perivascular<\/span> or lichenoid<\/span> lymphocytic<\/span> infiltrate<\/span> Specific epidermal changes are recognized. Alternation areas parakeratosis<\/span> and orthokeratosis<\/span> Are seen.
