Gram-negative <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"935\">bacteria<\/span> They include Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens, Klebsiella, and Proteus species.<\/p>\n<p>The term &quot;Gram negative&quot; refers to the staining pattern of the <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"883\">organisms<\/span> at the laboratory. Certain bacteria do not absorb a stain known as a &quot;Gram.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Gram-negative folliculitis can result from long-term treatment of acne with tetracycline or <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1330\">current<\/span> antibiotics<\/p>\n<p>Other skin conditions due to gram-negative bacteria include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Folliculitis in the spa pool, which is due to Pseudomonas infection.
