<\/span>What are the signs and symptoms of facial granuloma?<\/span><\/h2>\nPatients most often present to their doctor after noticing a spot or injury<\/span> on your face which then enlarges or multiplies in number over several weeks or months. These injuries are usually:<\/p>\n\n- Varied color: skin color, reddish brown, blue or purple<\/li>\n
- Its size varies from a few millimeters to several centimeters.<\/li>\n
- Elevated and smooth<\/li>\n
- Characterized by prominent follicles<\/span> (pores)<\/li>\n
- Defined with an edge<\/li>\n
- On the face, although similar lesions have been found in other parts of the body, such as the scalp, trunk and extremities, when they are known as extrafacial facial granuloma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

<\/span>What causes facial granuloma?<\/span><\/h2>\nIt is unknown why facial granuloma occurs, but sun exposure has been implicated:<\/p>\n
\n- Lesions appear most frequently in areas exposed to the sun.<\/li>\n
- The lesions darken when exposed to the sun.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
<\/span>How is it diagnosed?<\/span><\/h2>\nThe diagnosis is confirmed by the skin. biopsy<\/span> and it is often necessary to rule out other skin diseases that have a similar appearance. Facial granuloma is characterized by inflammatory<\/span> cells in the dermis<\/span> even eosinophils<\/span> (allergy<\/span> cells) and vasculitis<\/span> (acrimonious blood vessels<\/span>)<\/p>\n\n

- polymorphous<\/span> light eruption<\/span><\/li>\n

<\/span>Treatment of facial granuloma<\/span><\/h2>\nFacial granuloma is a chronic<\/span> condition with exacerbations<\/span> and referrals<\/span>. Spontaneous resolution rarely occurs. The disease appears to have no relation to internal disease and treatment is primarily to improve appearance. Various medical and surgical therapies have been used, but none have been consistently successful. Facial granuloma also has a tendency to recur after treatment.<\/p>\nMedical therapies used with variable results include:<\/p>\n
