Introduction
Dermoid cysts are derived from the ectoderm and involve lines of embryological closure.
Histology dermoid cyst
The sections show a subcutaneous cyst that is often received 'disbursed' (figure 1).
The coating is typically keratinizing. scaly epithelium (Figures 2, 3). The hallmark of these cysts is the presence of pilosebaceous structures in the wall of the cyst (figures 2, 3). Hair The axes are often located within the cyst (figure 3, arrow).
Less common findings include a column or bugger-secretory epithelium, smooth muscle in and around the cyst wall eccrine glands.

Differential diagnosis dermoid cyst pathology
Steatocystoma – steatocystoma sample sebaceous glands that connect to the cyst lining but the pillar structures are not visible. The lining lacks granular layer and has a corrugated feature curb layer.
