Angioleiomyoma pathology

Introduction

Angioleiomyoma is a rare smooth muscle. tumor arising from the smooth muscle of the vessel wall.

Histology angioleiomyoma

The angioleiomyoma scan magnification view shows a circumscribed tumor nodule arising in the dermis or subcutaneous tissue (figure 1). The tumor is made up of densely packed interlocking bundles of smooth muscle surrounding small tablets vascular channels (figures 2, 3).

Differential diagnosis angioleiomyoma

Myopericytoma: Although this entity is also a circumscribed nodule that stains positively for muscle markers, it is composed of perivascular plump spindle concentrically arranged to oval cells (glomoid type) with eosinophilic cytoplasm.
