Calciphylaxis pathology

Calciphylaxis is seen almost exclusively in patients with end-stage kidney disease. Calcification of glasses and Soft fabric cause skin heart attack and subsequent necrosis.

There may also be calcification of adipocytes.

Special studies of calciphylaxis.

Calcium can be demonstrated with special stains such as Von Kossa.

Differential diagnosis calciphylaxis

A medical history of renal Failure and necrotic skin lesions can be helpful in providing confidence in the diagnosis of calciphylaxis.

Vascular calcification: may be associated with atherosclerosis and diabetes Vascular thrombosis and calcification of numerous capillaries / fats suggest calciphylaxis.
