Melasma

Helios Laser Treatment

Nevo Rubi or Red Mole

Nevus Rufus, also known as Ruby Nevus, Ruby Spots, Cherry Nevus or Blood Moles, are benign skin formations that usually appear with skin aging in men and women. These small dermal lesions generally occur on the chest, neck and arms, although they can arise anywhere on the body. Its distinctive characteristic is its intense red color and its small size, which usually ranges between 1 and 2 millimeters in diameter. They are especially common in people with very fair skin.

Causes of Nevus Rufus

The main cause of Nevus Rufus is the dilation of small superficial blood vessels, which gives them their distinctive red color. Although its appearance is commonly related to the natural aging of the skin, there are other factors that can contribute to its development:

  1. Liver Disorders: Problems in liver function can predispose to the appearance of these nevi.
  2. Natural Aging: The skin tends to show signs of aging over the years, and Nevus Rufus is a common manifestation of this process.
