Over the years, the face begins to lose volume due to reabsorption and decrease in adipose tissue and collagen.

Today we have filler materials that do not produce allergic reactions, do not migrate and give natural results. At Hoogstra Medical Centers, the placement of fillers and the application of botulinum toxin (like all surgeries) are performed by Dr. Ricardo Hoogstra.

Dr. Ricardo Hoogstra uses only two types of fillers.

1) Autologous, the patient's own fat autograft.

2) Heterologous or synthetic, of which only hyaluronic acids such as Restylane (from the Galderma laboratory) and Voluma (from the Allergan laboratory) are used.

Unfortunately, many patients come to our Centers reporting that they placed hyaluronic acid, and when asked how long it took since the placement, many times indicate a much longer time than they last in the body.

Restylane has an average duration of 14 months. Dr. Ricardo Hoogstra uses it for wrinkle fillers and facial grooves. Voluma has a much longer duration and is used to model cheekbones, chin, tear canal and maxillary branch.

Currently, unfortunately, some medical and non-medical professionals continue to make fillers with prohibited products such as silicones. This leads to great physical deformations, damage to the health and psyche of the patient. This damage is permanent and irreversible. Silicones migrate and produce those typical facial and lip deformations.

If you see a deformed lip or a deformed face, it is very likely that a prohibited product has been placed on it.

Hyaluronic acids and botulinum toxin should be applied exclusively by plastic surgeons who have a greater understanding of the anatomy of the body.

The application should be done slowly and progressively so that the patient is accompanying the subtle changes that occur.

Female genital rejuvenation with Rich Plasma

Use of Platelet Rich Plasma in internal and external female genital rejuvenation.

One of the very little invasive procedures that rejuvenates the vagina and vaginal lips is the application of Platelet Rich Plasma.

Genital rejuvenation without surgery

For many years we have used the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to reduce wrinkles, furrows, cellulite, stretch marks and repair ulcers. It is also used in orthopedics and dentistry for bone repair.

The use of rich plasma has no adverse effects on the body. It consists of removing a small amount of blood from the patient himself, centrifuging it, and using the platelet concentrate to reconstitute tissue.

Platelets have substances called Growth Factors, which once injected into the desired area produces a cellular rejuvenation.

For a few years now, at Hoogstra Medical Centers we have been using PRP for internal and external genital rejuvenation, sometimes as the only procedure, but more frequently in combination with laser, both for facial and genital rejuvenation.

It is a quick, painless and immediate recovery procedure, and the patient can have sex the next day. If combined with lasers, it requires a 7-day sexual abstinence.

With the injection of this fraction of PRP we seek to reverse the signs of aging of the mucous membranes and skin due to the action of these released growth factors.

What does the treatment consist of?

Growth factors stimulate the production of fibroblasts responsible for the synthesis of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, essential components for maintaining the structure of tissues. Also by its action angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels) and mitogenesis (formation of new cells) are stimulated. All these changes improve dryness, atrophy, flaccidity, dyschromia (color alterations) and improve the texture, tone, color, shine and luminosity of the skin and mucous membranes.

After applying the PRP, the skin can feel smoother, softer and younger. The same happens at the level of the vaginal mucosa: the secretion of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin is stimulated, which improves the lubrication of the vaginal canal and prevents pain during intercourse.

The frequency of sessions is one every month with a maximum of 3 per year. Results for some women are fast and in other cases it takes several weeks to achieve the desired effects.

Origins of treatment

Since 2009 when Dr. Charles Runels, a doctor from Alabama, United States, began applying PRP to the clitoris and vaginal roof where the G-spot is supposed to be, there are more and more women in the United States and Europe than request this procedure. Dr. Charles Runel says his patients have “increased arousal, more intense orgasms, and younger, smoother skin around the vagina ".

This procedure is the same that we have been performing to rejuvenate the vagina and external genitalia, although with greater application of plasma rich in the vaginal ceiling and clitoris. Sometimes we also associate the application of hyaluronic acid in these areas.

The results are produced by a decrease of the vaginal introitus favoring friction, rejuvenating and lubricating the genitals, obtaining a positive effect in the sexual act.

Facelift before and after

In these patients we can see how the replacement of facial structures provides harmony, youth and beauty to the face. The results are natural because the only thing that is sought is to recover its previous state.

In the following example, in the pre-treatment image, it is shown how in the aging process, facial structures are losing definition and the face takes on the appearance of a square rather than an oval.

The oval is youth, the square shows us the laxity of the superficial and deep structures and the displacement of these tissues from the face to the neck. In the postoperative photo the patient recovers the shape of the oval. This is accomplished through a replacement of the superficial (skin) and deep facial structures (muscles and fascia).

In the following photos, a face and neck lift and laser lipo of the maxilla and neck were performed on the patient. We can observe the naturalness of the result and the absence of visible scars. No filling of the nasal lip grooves was performed, which would have further improved the result obtained.

In most of these patients, filling of the nasolabial and chin grooves was also performed. In the aging process, most of the structures of the face move downwards, while the facial centers deepen, this is caused by reabsorption of the bones.

It is for this reason that most of the time we do a facelift we must use fillers, which can be used many times before surgery to delay the facelift. Sometimes they can be done during the procedure as we did with these patients and other times they are done postoperatively.

How do you erase a tattoo?

Treatment duration

How many sessions are necessary to remove a tattoo?

On average, it takes about 8 sessions to remove a tattoo. There are tattoos that due to their chemical composition and or the depth placed, have more sessions and their number is difficult to pin down.

The amateur tattoos / tattoos, made with needles without an applicator gun, are made based on non-synthetic organic inks. This feature that is erased is very easy to break and microfragment. That is why amateur tattoos / tattoos require fewer sessions.
