How is a hair implant done?

In some forms of alopecia, it may be necessary to resort to surgical treatment to obtain an optimal result. Currently, hair transplantation is used through follicular micrografts. This hair technique has improved substantially in recent years. In fact we can say that at the present time it has reached its maturity, allowing totally natural results to be obtained.

The hair transplant technique using micrografts (“hair by hair”) is a minimally invasive surgery performed with local anesthesia, does not require admission, and the patient returns to his normal social and work life in a few days. The final result is observed at 12 months, so the image change obtained is gradual. It is an intervention that produces a very high degree of satisfaction in patients with alopecia, both men and women.

Ideal age for a hair transplant

The ideal age is between 30 and 40 years, however, this depends on each case. There are patients who do not reach the age of 30 who already have alopecia so advanced that it will not stabilize.

Should you wait for hair loss to complete before doing a hair transplant?

It is not necessary to wait until the hair loss is complete. The technique allows hair to be grafted between existing hair, while also acting to improve and restore hair density.

Urinary incontinence

La incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo (IUE) es un problema que afecta a una gran cantidad de mujeres de todas las edades, impactando significativamente en diversos aspectos de su vida diaria. Esta afección se caracteriza por la pérdida involuntaria de orina al realizar actividades que aumentan la presión abdominal, como toser, estornudar, reír o realizar ejercicio físico.

¿Qué es la Incontinencia Urinaria de Esfuerzo?

La incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo se manifiesta clínicamente como un escape repentino de orina ante un esfuerzo físico o cualquier acción que incremente la presión sobre la vejiga. Esta condición es más frecuente en mujeres que han tenido partos vaginales, debido a que el proceso del parto puede debilitar los músculos del suelo pélvico, los cuales son fundamentales para el control de la continencia urinaria. Los músculos del suelo pélvico sostienen la vejiga y la uretra; cuando estos músculos se debilitan, la orina puede escaparse de la vejiga a través de la uretra con una mínima presión sobre la vejiga.

Causas de la Incontinencia Urinaria de Esfuerzo

Entre las principales causas de la IUE se encuentran:

  • Partos vaginales: Los partos vaginales pueden causar un estiramiento o debilitamiento de los músculos del suelo pélvico.
  • Edad: A medida que las mujeres envejecen, los tejidos del suelo pélvico pueden debilitarse.
  • Cirugías ginecológicas: Procedimientos como la histerectomía pueden afectar la musculatura del suelo pélvico.
  • Obesity: El exceso de peso ejerce una mayor presión sobre la vejiga y los músculos pélvicos.
  • Tabaquismo: La tos crónica asociada al tabaquismo puede contribuir al debilitamiento de los músculos pélvicos.

Novel Carbon Dioxide Laser Treatment:

Dr. Ricardo Hoogstra has carried out treatments with Carbon Dioxide Laser since 1995, he was one of the pioneers in the use of this technology for Facial Rejuvenation and to treat a large number of skin diseases.

Dermopigmentation (eyebrows, lips and eyelids)

The dermopigmentation technique, also called micropigmentation or permanent makeup, it works at the level of the deep epidermis and for this reason it is a long-term treatment (approximately 3 to 4 years).

It is a procedure fast and effective in order to enhance the features, correct asymmetries, depigmentation and dyschromia achieving immediate changes.

How is it the procedure?

It consists of the superficial implantation in the skin of some pigments, by means of micro-needles. Dermopigmentation or semi-permanent chromatic makeup represents an option to obtain, even if only for simple comfort, a stable and unalterable aesthetic make-up. Everything is done with disposable material, under total quality control.

What kind of pigments do we use?

The pigments are natural of vegetable origin, they do not have preservatives or chemicals, for that reason they do not last a lifetime and are reabsorbed over time (from two to three years). 

It has no contraindications, it is performed under local anesthesia and allows immediate results to be seen.

In which parts of the body can it be applied?

Hyperhidrosis is a pathology characterized by excessive sweating in the armpits, hands, feet and face, of unknown cause.

Clinical picture

It is due to a neurological stimulus that produces hyperstimulation of the sweat glands. It generally has a genetic component, since it occurs frequently in parents and children. Although many times it is caused by emotional stress, most hyperhidrosis occurs spontaneously. It typically begins in adolescence or young adulthood in both men and women.
